Two of the hardest parts of this illustration were getting all the props together for the model shoot and them drawing them in illustrator. The saddle itself required a special trip to Novato and a visit to my cousin Kathy’s horse stall. Then, as I was working, I realized how much tiny little details were in all this western stuff. In the end, I was happy with how it came out. I left the hair pink as it was originally in my reference shot of the model. I liked the whole idea of a “punk” cowgirl.
